Kurzfassung: RoadChapter verarbeitet so wenig Daten wie möglich. Server stehen in Deutschland, Analytics ist datenschutzkonform über Matomo ohne obligatorische Cookies. Deine Daten werden nicht an Dritte verkauft.
1. Verantwortlicher
Verantwortlich im Sinne der DSGVO und des BDSG für die Verarbeitung personenbezogener Daten auf dieser Website und in der RoadChapter-App.
2. Welche Daten wir erheben
2.1 App – Konto und Profil
Wenn du ein Konto erstellst, speichern wir:
- E-Mail-Adresse (zur Authentifizierung)
- Von dir gewählter Nutzername / Anzeigename
- Profilbild (optional, von dir hochgeladen)
- Gespeicherte Stellplätze und Routen
- Bewertungen und Fotos, die du in der App hochlädst
2.2 App – Standortdaten
Die App benötigt deinen Standort, um Stellplätze in deiner Nähe anzuzeigen und Routen zu berechnen. Die Standortdaten werden ausschließlich lokal auf deinem Gerät verarbeitet und nicht dauerhaft auf unseren Servern gespeichert, sofern du keine Route oder keinen Stellplatz speicherst.
2.3 Website – Serverlog
Beim Besuch der Website werden vorübergehend folgende Daten in Serverlogs gespeichert:
- Anonymisierte IP-Adresse (letzte 2 Oktette entfernt)
- Aufgerufene Seite, Datum und Uhrzeit
- Browser-Typ und Betriebssystem
- HTTP-Statuscode
Diese Daten werden nach 14 Tagen automatisch gelöscht und nicht mit anderen Daten zusammengeführt.
2.4 Analytics (Matomo)
Wir nutzen Matomo, eine selbst gehostete, datenschutzkonforme Analytics-Software. Matomo läuft auf unseren eigenen Servern in Deutschland – keine Daten werden an Dritte übermittelt.
- IP-Adressen werden vor der Speicherung anonymisiert
- Ohne deine Zustimmung: cookieloser Betrieb (keine persistenten IDs)
- Mit deiner Zustimmung: Cookies für verbesserte Statistiken (1 Jahr)
- Kein Tracking über andere Websites hinweg
Du kannst das Tracking jederzeit über das Cookie-Banner auf dieser Website ablehnen. Die Nutzung der App ist vollständig unabhängig von deiner Zustimmung zur Analytics.
3. Rechtsgrundlagen
- Vertragserfüllung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO): Kontodaten, die zur Bereitstellung der App-Dienste erforderlich sind

4. Datenweitergabe an Dritte
Wir verkaufen deine Daten nicht. Wir geben keine personenbezogenen Daten an Dritte weiter, mit folgenden Ausnahmen:
- Apple App Store: Apple stellt die Download-Infrastruktur bereit. Apple hat eigene Datenschutzrichtlinien.
- Gesetzliche Pflichten: Wenn wir rechtlich zur Herausgabe verpflichtet werden.
5. Datenspeicherung und Löschung
- Kontodaten werden so lange gespeichert, wie dein Konto besteht
- Nach Account-Löschung werden alle persönlichen Daten innerhalb von 30 Tagen entfernt
- Server-Logs: 14 Tage
- Matomo-Daten (cookieless): aggregiert, keine personenbezogenen Daten
Alle Daten werden auf Servern in Deutschland gespeichert.

Gemäß DSGVO hast du folgende Rechte:

7. Kontodaten in der App löschen
Du kannst deinen Account und alle zugehörigen Daten direkt in der App löschen: Einstellungen → Account → Account löschen. Die Löschung ist dauerhaft und kann nicht rückgängig gemacht werden.
8. Cookies
Diese Website verwendet keine obligatorischen Cookies. Cookies werden ausschließlich gesetzt, wenn du dem Analytics-Tracking ausdrücklich zustimmst. Die Nutzung der Website ist ohne Cookies vollständig möglich.
9. Sicherheit
Alle Verbindungen zwischen der App, der Website und unseren Servern sind mit TLS/HTTPS verschlüsselt. Passwörter werden mit modernen Hash-Verfahren (bcrypt) gespeichert und niemals im Klartext.
10. Änderungen dieser Erklärung
Wir behalten uns vor, diese Datenschutzerklärung zu aktualisieren. Über wesentliche Änderungen informieren wir dich per App-Benachrichtigung oder E-Mail. Das Datum der letzten Aktualisierung ist oben angegeben.

2. Data We Collect
2.1 App – Account and Profile
When you create an account, we store:
- Email address (for authentication)
- Username / display name chosen by you
- Profile picture (optional, uploaded by you)
- Saved spots and routes
- Reviews and photos you upload in the app
2.2 App – Location Data
The app requires your location to show nearby spots and calculate routes. Location data is processed locally on your device and is not permanently stored on our servers unless you save a route or spot.
2.3 Website – Server Logs
When you visit the website, the following data is temporarily stored in server logs:
- Anonymized IP address (last 2 octets removed)
- Page visited, date and time
- Browser type and operating system
- HTTP status code
This data is automatically deleted after 14 days and is not combined with other data.
2.4 Analytics (Matomo)
We use Matomo, a self-hosted, privacy-compliant analytics platform. Matomo runs on our own servers in Germany – no data is transmitted to third parties.
- IP addresses are anonymized before storage
- Without your consent: cookieless mode (no persistent IDs)
- With your consent: cookies for improved statistics (1 year)
- No cross-site tracking
You can opt out of tracking at any time via the cookie banner on this website. Use of the app is completely independent of your analytics consent.
3. Legal Basis

We do not sell your data. We do not share personal data with third parties, with the following exceptions:
- Apple App Store: Apple provides the download infrastructure and has its own privacy policy.
- Legal obligations: If we are legally required to disclose data.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Account data is retained as long as your account exists
- After account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days
- Server logs: 14 days
- Matomo data (cookieless): aggregated, no personal data
All data is stored on servers located in Germany.

7. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

This website does not use mandatory cookies. Cookies are only set if you explicitly consent to analytics tracking. Full use of the website is possible without cookies.
9. Security
All connections between the app, website, and our servers are encrypted using TLS/HTTPS. Passwords are stored using modern hashing algorithms (bcrypt) and are never stored in plain text.
